Amritsar

Ferozepur : Ferozepur city
situated right on the Indo-Pakistan border is well connected
by road as well as rail with Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar,
Delhi, Chandigarh and the rest of the country.There are
a number of holy shrines, historic places and memorials
in and around Ferozepur.
Gurdaspur :Gurdaspur, which
is a border district of the state, has played a significant
role in the defense of the country. Batala and Dhariwal
are important industrial centers known respectively for
the manufacture of machine tools and woolen products. Dera
Baba Nanak and Sri Hagobindpur have great religious sanctity
and Pathankot - a great tourist transit center has a number
of picnic spots nearby.
Jalandhar : If there exists
an ancient city with a modern face, then Jalandhar fits
the description. A town of great antiquity, Jalandhar today
is a highly industrialized center of commercial activity.
Jalandhar is known for its sportsmen as well as its sports
industry, its steel and iron re-rolling mills, rubber goods,
electric goods, automobile parts, and sewing machine factories
and handloom products.
Kapurthala :Kapurthala named
after its founder Nawab Kapur Singh, this capital town of
an erstwhile princely state is situated towards the west
of Jalandhar City at a distance of 19 kms.
Ludhiana : Ludhiana is industrial
metropolis of the Punjab industry. Its machine tools and
motor parts are widely exported. The Christian Medical College,
an Engineering College and Punjab Agricultural University
which has ushered green revolution in Punjab are renowned
centres of education. Ludhiana holds world records in food
production.
Moga : Moga has great importance
on punjab's history. The border town of Ferozepur is known
for its memorials to the freedom fighters of India.
Muktsar : Muktsar is famous
for its Sikh shrines .Muktsar is also famous for the Maghi
Festival celebrated here and For Punjabi Jutti Of Muktsar.
Patiala : The City that preserves
all the charm of the old world while its modern buildings
and institutions, gardens and wide concrete roads make it
look a pre-eminently young city equipped with all the amenities
of present day life.
Roop Nagar (Ropar) : Situated
at a distance of 40 kms from Chandigarh on way to Anandpur
Sahib, Rupnagar (also Ropar) is known for archaeological
finds which reflect the history of India from pre-historic
to the present times.
Sangrur : the splendid capital
of the erstwhile Jind State is situated at a distance of
nearly 60 kms from Patiala
Sirhind : Sirhind is a city
where the Mughals still live on in the magnificent architectural
legacy they have left for the future generations. The origin
of the city is not known but probably dates back to the
10th century.
Fatehgarh Sahib : Shahidi
